Sea Spray
Blending New England, The Hamptons, and Devon styles, this house combines open-plan living with a cozy, beachside character. Its upside-down layout and sloping site ensure all main living spaces have south-facing views to the Devon coast or over the rear golf course.
Inside, green oak framing, painted softwood rafters, and timber boarding add texture, rhythm, and a sense of warmth. Sustainable construction uses clay block ground-floor walls and timber-panel first floors insulated with recycled newspaper, while selected interior walls feature clay plaster.
Outside, green oak balconies, verandas, and seating areas create layered, sculptural interest. Large roof overhangs, triple-glazed windows, an Air Source Heat Pump, solar PV, and a Mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery system ensure comfort and environmental performance.
